Issyk Kul Lake

Issyk-Kul Lake is the second-largest mountain lake in the world and one of Kyrgyzstan’s most famous natural attractions. Nestled between the Kyrgyz Ala-Too and the Kungey Ala-Too Range, this alpine lake stretches 182 km long, up to 60 km wide, and reaches depths of over 700 meters.

The name “Issyk-Kul” means “warm lake” in Kyrgyz because, despite its high altitude, it never freezes in winter. Its sparkling turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and surrounding mountains make it a top destination for both relaxation and adventure tourism.
